Donate to Yad Sarah
During the last forty years, we at Yad Sarah have endeavored to create a new kind of giving–one that embodies trust, humanity, and adherence to traditional Jewish values. The creation of an organization that relies on the contributions of 6,000 volunteers and has touched the lives of every second family in Israel is nothing short of visionary. No less important to the fulfillment of the dream has been the response of thousands of people to the call for financial support.
The many services offered by Yad Sarah touch the lives of thousands, helping families to raise a disabled child at home, helping families to care for a beloved grandparent at home, or allowing a terminally ill patient to die in dignity, at home, surrounded by loved ones.
We continually add services to our repertoire in an effort to ease the burdens of the caretakers as well as the patients struggling during a time of crisis. Our services allow families to care for their loved ones without the worry of financial ruin. Help is available right now without the burden of bureaucratic red tape.
All this is made possible by the generous response of our donors from all over the world and from all walks of life. Yad Sarah’s programs are supported almost completely by donations. No government assistance is received and more than 80% of the operating budget is raised in Israel. Of course, donations to Yad Sarah are tax deductible to the extent of the law and are recognized for tax purposes in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Switzerland, the Netherlands, France, and Israel.
There are many ways you can choose to donate to Yad Sarah and become an integral part of this amazing organization.
Purchasing new equipment constitutes a major part of the Yad Sarah operating budget. Donating any one of the many items in Yad Sarah’s inventory will help improve the lives of countless individuals. Priority is given to wheelchairs, breast milk pumps, electrical hospital beds, crutches, walkers, oxygen concentrators and patient hoists, but any donation is welcome. A complete “houspital,” that creates a hospital environment at home and allows a patient to recuperate at home in familiar surroundings, enveloped in the love of their family, is a wonderful way to commemorate a special event or remember a loved one.
The pride and joy of Yad Sarah is its fleet of handicapped-accessible vans, which allow people with special needs to travel to visit friends, work, attend school, and participate in family and community events. They also allow people with disabilities and their families to fulfill the dream of visiting Israel. Delivery vans enable volunteers to bring life-sustaining equipment to the housebound. Both of these donation options will help thousands of people live a more comfortable and rewarding life.
You can honor or remember a loved one, mark a yahrzeit, or celebrate a special birthday or simcha with a gift to Yad Sarah. We will send a donation certificate, which will add meaning to the occasion. Larger donations may be commemorated with a plaque or if applicable, your name will be inscribed on the doors of a van in both Hebrew and English.
You can adopt a person in the day rehabilitation center, contribute towards a particular service, or contribute to the running of a particular branch. The opportunities for helping are limitless and donations can be tailored to your special area of interest.
